Vladivostok thinks about light-rail metro
The concept of the light-rail metro and interchange hubs for Vladivostok was presented by Japanese specialists. The city in the Far East of Russia does not have now any Rapid transit system. The concept suggests the renovation of the railway station where passengers will be able to choose any public transport to continue their rout.
The transport infrastructure of the city should be renovated according to the new standards of safety and comfort living, meaning the construction of the interchange hubs. The recreation zones around the Bay Zolotoy Rog are also planned to be enlarged. The central square should be expanded towards the seashore and the landscape will be formed with comfortable walking areas and public places.
Previously, in 2015, a businessman from St Petersburg suggested the idea of light-rail metro for the largest city in the Far East and it was declined by local authorities. He also applied for the same project in other Russian cities, Perm, for example with no success. The Japanese specialists, supposedly, will be invited to work in the city of Voronezh as well.
