Mosinzhproekt can build a metro in Izmir
The Mosinzhproekt engineering holding, owned by the Moscow Government and engaged in the development of the metro in the Russian capital, may receive a contract in Turkey.
To date, the company has passed the first qualifying stage, confirming the qualification. This will be followed by the preparation of a feasibility study for a metro project in Izmir, Turkey’s third most populous city.Within the framework of the project, it is planned to build tunnels and 11 underground stations, as well as a depot, a building of production workshops and a connecting tunnel between the main line and the depot territory.
In addition to the implementation of construction and installation works, the tender provides for the detailed design of metro facilities, the supply of basic equipment and materials. The implementation of the project will take place in conditions of dense urban development in difficult engineering-geological conditions of the region with unstable seismic.
Note:
The first metro line in Izmir was opened in May 2000. There are 17 stations on the 20.1 km long line. The first metro line partially included a railway line to the resort area of Bornova. The total cost of the project is $600 million.
