The construction of the Big Circle Line in Moscow will be completed in 2022
The construction of the Great Ring Line (BCL) of the metro of the Russian capital is planned to be completed by the end of 2022.
This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for urban planning policy and construction Andrei Bochkarev. He stressed that at the moment it is planned to accelerate work at individual stations and sections of the line. He stressed that by the end of the year, the construction and preparations for the launch of the Big Ring of the Moscow Metro will be completed ahead of schedule.
He also noted that this year it is planned to complete the construction of 7 and reconstruction of 2 stations.
The construction of the Big Ring Line is the main project of the capital’s metro construction. The length of the line will be more than 70 km, 31 stations will open in its composition, and a larger number (22 stations) have already been commissioned. Thus, BCL is the largest circular metro line in the world, which connects existing and prospective radial lines.
The BCL will relieve radial directions, make it possible to connect between areas that did not have it before, and improve the quality of Moscow’s transport accessibility. Thanks to the new subway ring, Muscovites and guests of the capital will have a greater choice of routes for moving around the city. This will reduce the congestion of the lines and reduce the time required for the road.
During the construction of the BCL, technical solutions are laid that will allow to connect new radial metro lines to it: rublevo-Arkhangelskaya line – at the Karamyshevskaya station; Kommunarskaya Line – on Novatorskaya; Biryulyovskaya line – on “Klenovy Boulevard”.
