Test run of trains on metro line in Tashkent
The test train was launched on the section from the final station "Almazar" on the existing Chislar Line, to the final station "Kipchak" on the Sergel line under construction. Taking into account that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev demanded to put into operation the Sergili line of the Tashkent Metro in the near future, construction and start-up work was carried out at a very high rate.
The rail laying, which began in early June this year, has now been completed. At the moment, the installation of escalators, the decoration of the external facade of the stations, the device of the electric lighting system are being completed.
“The launch of the train confirms the readiness of the upper structure of the track on this site. At present, the new branch is undergoing final construction, installation and finishing work,” commented the Uzbek-owned railway company Memir Yullari. It is noted that all stages of construction are carried out on time and in accordance with building codes and technical requirements.
The new line is planned to be launched by the end of 2020. The Sergelian metro line was 7.1 km. The cost of the project was $82.6 million, of which $47.5 million was budget funds and $35.1 million was a loan from the Reconstruction and Development Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Tashkent Metro Ring Line is also under construction.
