New Moscow gets new metro line
In the middle of 2018, the new line of the Moscow metro will be started in New Moscow. The New Moscow is a newly formed area consisting of the territories joined to the old area of the city of Moscow in 2011.

The total length of the line will be 17.5 km, it will connect the metro station of the Third Interchange Ring «Ulitsa Novatorov» and future station «Stolbovo» – the terminal station of the line Sokolnicheskaya (previously known as Kirovsko-Frunzenskaya) , one of the oldest lines of the Moscow metro system.
The new line will include 7 stations and takes the route through the settlements Gazoprovod, Kommunarka, Sosenskoye and along the designed highway MKAD (Moscow’s ring road) – Kommunarka – Ostafiev airport. According to Marat Husnullin, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for city –planning policy, the project documentation is planned to be developed by the end of the spring and the construction work will be started in the summer.
